I voiced some concern earlier about the pending sale of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. (See Pulitzer Era Over?) It has since been purchased by Lee Enterprises of Davenport, Iowa.
My first reaction is that I'm glad that the Post-Dispatch will still be a "flagship" newspaper for the new company. The Pulitzer purchase is by far the largest aquisition ever for Lee, so there is hope that the newspaper will not become the bastard step-child. I'm also heartened by the fact that it was bought by a Midwest company. Hey, we're not Iconic for nothing!
