Oh Shit....

This is not comforting...

Geithner defended the [Obama budget], saying far more people would benefit from lower taxes under the plan. He said the budget reflects what Obama viewed as "a deep moral imperative to make our society more just."

Moral as defined by who? What if I don't subscribe to your religion?

I don't see why it is necessary to say if you don't like Obama's budget you are thus immoral. And, yes, that is exactly what such language means...if it means anything at all.

I'm Sorry, But This Ain't Normal

Really it isn't: Creepy. As. Hell.

Last Sunday I attended a community picnic for “Obama families.”

When we walked into the community center, they tried to shuffle the kids off to one side to “learn about voting” while an aggressive campaign worker told us to sign-in on a clipboard. When I asked why she needed our phone number, address, and email, she said, “we just want to know how many people attended.” Classic Alinsky organizing. My wife spoke Democrat to them and my kids and I were able to enter without further indoctrination.

Inside, a popular children’s entertainer, Rebecca Frezza, was performing but she had changed all of the lyrics of her songs to, I kid you not, “I Love. Bar-ack Oh-Baaaa-mah.” Most disappointing because my daughters are fans and couldn’t hear the songs the way they knew them.

After that were two speeches by our local NJ assemblywoman and an adviser to Obama’s campaign. Both speeches were about how “amazing” Obama’s convention speech was, how the stadium spectacle brought them to tears, and how they were initially inspired to support Obama by Will-I-Am’s youtube video. I couldn’t make this stuff up. Both speeches ended with some hope-and-change chanting. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a room with 200 sweaty Democrats (adults and kids) chanting “yes we can” but I’d rather reenact the torture scene from Syriana than do that again.

I’m happy to report that my daughters, ages eight and five, caught the creepy stench of group-think in the air and were extremely uncomfortable. My Democrat wife too had to admit that it was a little scary. After we left I bought my kids an ice cream cone to sooth the pain.

There is also a YouTube video of children singing songs of praise and worship to the Messia....I mean Obama.

I won't link to that.

Just remember, all of this stuff is simply a figment of your imagination.

Obama As Jesus Again

No, move along, nothing to see here!

The popular meme to explain the difference between Obama and Palin which is now emerging on the left is "Jesus was a community organizer, Pilate was a governor".

You can have a lot of fun with that, can’t you?

Dammit...I said keep moving...nothing to see here...nada...zip... zilch!!!!

Wait.....here he comes!!!!!!!!!!!

Sonofa.....

UPDATE AND BUMP:

Jim Treacher inquires if this wasn't a case of the DK astroturfing for the Obama Campaign. He's got a point:

Here's a funny thing: If you Google "Jesus was a community organizer" "Pilate was a governor", suddenly that moronic non sequitur is all over the place. Hundreds of results, and I'll give you a cookie made of dreams if you can find one dated before Sept. 4. Purely spontaneous, right?

Way to get rid of the "He thinks he's the Messiah" meme, geniuses. Astroturfing sucks, but if it helps turn even more people away from a witless crybaby like Obama, who wants to be president because otherwise it's not fair, that works for me. We are the spam we've been waiting for.

I'll also emphasize the point that this is Obama campaign itself directly comparing their candidate with Jesus, and not some zealous moonbats.

"Hey what I used to do...that's just like Jesus, right?"

How dare we think there is anything weird about that!

Can't Make This Stuff Up...

...but it sure does fit a pattern many want, in vain, to claim doesn't exist. From The Dude Abides.

At 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2004, when I was the religion reporter (I am now its religion columnist) at the Chicago Sun-Times, I met then-State Sen. Barack Obama at Café Baci, a small coffee joint at 330 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago, to interview him exclusively about his spirituality. Our conversation took place a few days after he'd clinched the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat that he eventually won. We spoke for more than an hour. He came alone. He answered everything I asked without notes or hesitation. The profile of Obama that grew from the interview at Cafe Baci became the first in a series in the Sun-Times called "The God Factor," that eventually became my first book, The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People (FSG, March 2006.) Because of the staggering interest in now U.S. Sen. Obama's faith and spiritual predilections, I thought it might be helpful to share that interivew...

The money quote:

GG:
Do you believe in sin?

OBAMA:
Yes.

GG:
What is sin?

OBAMA:
Being out of alignment with my values.

Don't share the O's values? Welcome to sin my friends.

Logic: Pick Up On It

Oh God, I don't have the time to do an out and out fisking on it, but here is a piece that drives my inner logician mad: My Own Reverend Wright

During the uproar in March over the incendiary remarks of Barack Obama's longtime preacher, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama supporters implored people to be empathetic, saying "Don't we all have someone like that in our lives?" But no one gave a concrete example.

Goodie, a concrete example...because everyone has a mentor who is a hate monger/anti-Semite, right? O.K. who ya got?

I've got one. A good friend of mine is now publicly representing the faction of "Clintonites" that are threatening to not vote in November or to vote for John McCain rather than fall in line behind Barack Obama.

Yeah, because having a friend who supports John McCain is the equivalent of having one who supports Louis Farrakhan.

What else ya got?

Yeesh. As I assume Obama did vis-à-vis Wright, for the last week I have been crossing my fingers that no one connects the dots between me and my friend, out of fear of "guilt by association." I never gave Obama the benefit of the doubt on the guilt-by-association thing, but now that it's happening to me, I do.

Alright, "guilt by association" is bad...remember that for later.

Seeing my friend, who I know to be liberal-to-moderate, on a FOX News Channel segment called "Dems Divided" talking about the splinter group he founded, which is named after a predatory feline creature, made me recoil the way I imagine Obama did when he first saw the tape. It was my own "God damn America!" mortification moment. (Although my friend does look very good on TV. It was a little like watching a Leni Riefenstahl film. Looks good aesthetically, but think about what she's doing!)

Yeah, if you don't support Obama you are indistinguishable from a Nazi propagandist. (Thank goodness, the guy was a "friend." I'd hate to think of what he would have called someone he didn't like very much.)

Is it SANE for a Democrat to back McCain after the Republican-induced nightmare of the last eight years?

Yes, because we all know McCain has been calling the shots for the last eight years. What? He hasn't? Oh, that's ok, because we can say he's guilty by association. You see, "guilt by association" is only bad when done by non-Obama supporters. If you support the "chosen one" it's totally cool.

I went to my first Obama event last night. I'm sick of being in a chronically aggrieved position, as Hillary supporters have been for months. I want and need to be positive and excited again. I want to be available to the appealing Hopey McChange, not the twisted, angry Oldy McSame.

Yep, that's the typical Obama supporter in a nutshell. It's all about how these wannabe New Agers feel. "Come join us! Thinking isn't necessary. In fact, doing so in any organized fashion is frowned upon. Just grab the kool-aid and drink deeply. OH! The Lightworker cometh!"

I Still Want To Know What "Flavor" The Kool Aid Is

Sadly we live in an age where the following can be written by a columnist for a major metropolitan daily:

Even Bill Clinton, with all his effortless, winking charm, didn’t have what Obama has, which is a sort of powerful luminosity, a unique high-vibration integrity….

Here’s where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet

Well, that just buried the needle on the ol' Creep-O-Meter.

Can we skip the whole running for President thing and just make Obama mayor of Sedona instead?
